Come out to the Horatio Colony Nature Preserve and discover ways to reduce your impact on the earth while enjoying nature. This program will demonstrate techniques to reduce and prevent recreational impacts. Meet at the Horatio Colony Nature Preserve parking area off Daniels Hill Road in Keene (first pull off in left). Remember to bring sturdy walking shoes, water/snack, bug spray, long sleeve shirt and pants and hat. |

Saturday, July 31 – 10:00 am Treasures of the Horatio Colony Nature Preserve How did these massive rock outcroppings get here? Has the landscape always looked like this? Who placed all of these stones so strategically? Join us for a morning hike to discover some of the natural and cultural treasures of the Horatio Colony Nature Preserve. Participants will develop a sense of place through geologic history, tree identification and aging, and detecting disturbance. |
