Saturday, September 23 – 10:00 am Museum Garden Series - Spring Forward with Bulb Planting Conducted by professional gardener Sarah Mustin Stockwell, this talk will cover what bulbs do well in our gardens in Keene; which bulbs are perennial; and how -where- and when to plant them. Participants will be introduced to lesser known bulbs and how you can add a whole early season of interest to your garden with spring bulbs. |

Wednesday, September 15 - 4:00 pm New Hampshire Writers' Series: Clock, Clock, Clock No one has enough time any more. Howard Mansfield will look at how our lives have been speeding up since the 1700's, with stops to examine early clocks, railroads, mills, vaudeville, The Old Homestead, and the once-common family-run general store. Mansfield is the author of In the Memory House, The Same Ax, Twice, The Bones of the Earth, and Turn & Jump: How Time and Place Fell Apart. He also edited Where the Mountain Stands Alone: Stories of Place in the Monadnock Region. Reservations required. |

Clare will do indoor technique demonstrations, guide you outdoors in what to record, give you solo time, provide her own books and other resources for indoor nourishment and inspiration. 29 - 3:00 pm American Girl Tea In collaboration with the Youth Department at Keene Public Library, the museum will host the 4th annual American Girl Tea based on the American Girl book series. Participants will master a traditional Victorian craft, learn how to set a proper table for High Tea and dine on herb tea and tea-time goodies.
